Member of Artist-team consultants to architects and engineers. Established overall integrated system into city's fabric. Included entire right-of-way, landscaping, station canopy, rail car, bridge pier design and refurbishment of historical Eads bridge for system.
The artist design team criteria was to view the 15 miles of Light Rail, from East St. Louis to the Airport, as a microcosm of the great, natural systems of river and prarie life as well as specifically addressing individual communities or activities that Metro Link would touch on its’ journey through the city, its’ backyards and open land.
Our concerns which we attempted to reflect in the planning, included preservation of the environment; preservation of the heritage of St. Louis; energy conservation; reclamation of the natural environment; respect for historic foundations of the city and empowerment of local communities to coalesce around one system which would enhance the environment and benefit the quality of life
