Tempe, AZ.  A conceptual landscape design for the 6-mile linear park and open space surrounding Town Lake, a 200-acre artificial lake recently constructed along the Rio Salado in Tempe, Arizona. It is based upon a pebble dropped into the water. Once a dry flood control channel, the lake is envisioned as an urban oasis, incorporating features for flood control, climate control, gathering and event spaces, play-fields, bikeways, playgrounds and boating activities. The plan is a weaving of environmental planning, outdoor recreation, and responsible economic development.
