Houston, TX.  250' Steel and fiberglass pedestrian bridge connecting new nature science center with Mt. McGregor.  Two 8'W. x 60'L timber pier sections bracket a 120'L steel center span. Span is based on vertebral system of ancient water creatures. Oval in form, center section is sheltered from sun by ribbed fiberglass roof.  A mound of fiberglass at ovals' center protrudes upward like raised backbone, providing seating. Roof and seating are sources of light, "x-raying" the center span at night.
